These shoes have been very popular and are already starting to sell out! Restocks will come, so if your size is sold out more will become available!
If you’re looking for barefoot boots that blend mainstream style with true foot-friendly design, Lang.S is a brand to know. Formerly called Tikki Shoes, Lang.S has reimagined their line for adults with timeless leather shoes and boots that offer generous toe space, comfortable fit, and standout quality. After wearing them through last fall and winter, I can confidently say that I am in love; they’re one of the best new options for both wide and average-width feet.
Key Takeaways
- Extra-wide friendly but versatile fit – works for a range of foot shapes without looking oversized.
- Classic style, barefoot feel – welt stitching, chunky soles, and leather construction that look mainstream but stay flexible and zero drop.
- High-quality natural materials – chrome-free leather lining that’s soft, breathable, and skin-friendly.
- Sizing – runs roomy; size down if between sizes. Best for medium to slightly high-volume feet, low volume feet will need some extra padding to get the best fit.

Lang.S, formerly known as Tikki, has quickly become one of my favorite barefoot shoe brands. When they were Tikki, they focused mainly on kids’ shoes and women’s sandals, but under their new name — which stands for “Language of the Soil” — they’ve expanded into boots and other everyday shoes for adults.
Last year they launched their first boot collection, and this year they’ve added to the lineup. I started wearing them last fall and fell hard — so much so that we now carry them in at Anya’s Shop in the US, so they can be easier to order on this side of the Atlantic.
What makes Lang.S stand out is their ability to make shoes that are extra-wide friendly without looking oversized or clownish. They have generous toe box height, excellent foot-shaped design, and just the right balance between mainstream style and barefoot function.
Lang.S shoes have a classic look, with stylish details like welt stitching and chunky outsoles, but they’re still lightweight and very flexible. They feel like a “normal” shoe in the good ways, but you’re getting all the benefits of a barefoot fit.
What I Love About Them
Lang.S bridges the gap between style and function better than almost any other barefoot brand. My assistant Samantha (with extra-wide feet) and I (with average-wide feet) can both wear the same models comfortably — a rare “feet” (Feet, like feat. Get it? Guys?).
I also love that Lang.S gives a variety of soles. The Kombat and Mira come with a chunkier outsole that’s nearly 2 cm thick — a style people love the look of, but that is also more protective in cold weather since it keeps you a little further off the ground. The Luna, on the other hand, has a thinner sole that’s more traditionally barefoot in feel. I rotate between thick and thin soles depending on the day, and I’ve been surprised at how barefoot the chunkier options still feel.
The materials they use are also fantastic. The Lang.S shoes we review here are all leather-lined with chrome-free, breathable leather that feels soft against the skin (vegan models are available on their website too). All these models come in a range of neutrals, making them easy to pair with just about anything in your wardrobe. And even the insoles are comfortable — no stickiness that you sometimes get with leather footbeds. Overall, the quality and craftsmanship really shine.
Sizing & Fit
- Runs slightly roomy. If you’re in between sizes, I recommend sizing down.
- Wide to extra-wide toe box – Samantha reports they’re just wide enough for her, and getting more so as they break in.
- Works best for medium to high-volume feet. The boots are more on the high volume side, so if you have low-volume feet, you’ll probably want to add an insole, wear thick socks, or adjust laces and buckles for a more secure fit.
Now, let’s meet some of their new models!
The Kombat

The Kombat boot is one of our favorites. They look cool, function well, and fit well. A fully leather lace-up boot with a side zipper makes them both stylish and easy to get on and off. They’ve got a chunky outsole that’s super flexible, giving them a “Doc Martens” look without the weight or stiffness.
Samantha and I both wore the Kombat last year and they quickly became a favorite. The versatile fit from the laces means you don’t have to worry about break-in or adjustments — they just work. And even though they’re leather-lined, with a wool sock and thicker outsole, they kept my feet warm in cold weather.
The Luna

The Luna is another fully leather boot, but with a thinner outsole for a more classic barefoot feel. They’re higher volume than the other models, so I like to wear mine with a thick sock or add an insole.
What stands out most is the look: the welt stitching and sleek shape make them feel like a timeless leather boot rather than a sneaker-boot hybrid like you sometimes get with traditional barefoot boots. The leather is buttery soft, breaks in beautifully (really, almost no break-in at all), and the style pairs effortlessly with everyday outfits.
The Mira

The Mira is brand new this year and one of the styles I’m most excited about. It shares the same outsole as the Kombat but feels more flexible thanks to its suede upper. The fit is medium volume but very adjustable with straps, so they work well for both high and low-volume feet without looking bulky when tightened (though mine do bulge slightly when on the tightest setting).
This is a fresh style in the barefoot shoe world and it is definitely both trendy and versatile. I have been wearing mine sockless so far, and can’t wait to wear mine this fall with cute socks or tights. They’re so comfy!! If you’ve been looking for something different in your barefoot lineup, the Mira hits the mark.
Overall, Lang.S has managed to create shoes that honor natural foot shape without sacrificing style, comfort, or quality. Whether you go for the chunky Kombat, the classic Luna, or the trendy new Mira, you’ll find a versatile barefoot option that feels as good as it looks.
