Too many shoes out there claim to be comfortable and good for your feet without actually having the space where you need it. I am tired of pretty shoes that don’t deliver anything more than looks. It’s time for an upgrade. My newest design, the Faye boot, is now available and ready to transform your closet!

I loathe compromises, and after dealing with chronic foot pain and a hypermobile body that’s prone to injury I just won’t wear what hurts me anymore.
Because pointy shoes and high heels HURT. Why not turn “beauty is pain” upside down and create stylish footwear that’s more comfortable than a pretty shoe has any business being?
So I set out to make a new boot that was truly beautiful, with a streamlined silhouette and quality materials, but that turns typical shoe features on its head.
Why Faye is different

Ground zero for a comfortable shoe is that it’s shaped like a human foot. So if you are a lover of shoes that don’t feel like torture devices, you’ll be pleased to know that the Faye boot has the following design features:
- Anatomical foot-shape – None of this “good for wide feet” rhetoric while still being pointy. Faye is actually spacious for your toes.
- Zero drop – No heel for natural upright alignment.
- Flexibility – Feet bend, shoes should too.
The Specs

The Faye boot is made in Portugal with a premium leather upper and full leather lining that is chrome free and gentle for skin. The outsole is rubber, and there is an interior side zipper. Faye currently comes in two colors – glossy Cognac and nubuck Cider, in sizes EU 36-44.
Faye is in many respects a barefoot shoe, but she has a bit more structure than you’ll find with other brands. The sole has flexibility, but in order to keep its elegant lines and dressy appearance it is not as flexible as some brands you might be familiar with. If you’re looking for a softer out of the box feel, the Cider nubuck is my recommendation. The Cognac leather feels more structured and holds its shape more.

The Sizing & Fit
- Mostly true to size, but slightly roomy compared to other brands in the same size. No need to order a size down unless you want a close, fitted feel.
- Medium to wide fit. Will fit a wide variety of foot shapes, but likely not suitable for extra wide feet.
- Fitted through the ankle, medium volume over the arch.
If you are someone who is sensitive to pressure on the achilles, I recommend adding a heel grip to your order. The shaping of the heel might rub before broken in, but putting a heel grip inside the boot right at the achilles made it totally soft for me.

The Backstory
I have been working on this boot for a couple of years now. I knew I wanted to create something that had never been done before, something that will make a barefoot shoe wearer gasp when they see it because it’s so beautiful. So I spent months tweaking the design so that it would be streamlined and sleek, with not a speck of frumpiness in sight.

Styling Faye
Truthfully I have been reaching for my Faye boots so often this fall and winter. The clean lines and classic styling make them the perfect endcap to just about any outfit. When I can’t decide what boots to wear with my cute outfit, Faye is my go to. I hope you love them as much as I do!

They’re really beautiful! Could Faye have a cousin who is a tall riding boot? 🙂
Ooh yes! I would buy both versions.
YES PLEASE!!
What size do you wear in these Anya?
I wear a size 37 and have room for medium thick socks!
I LOVE these.. I’m based in Ireland what would be shipping costs.. on off chance too do you stock these at all in Frankfurt?! Thanks.. by the way I’ve followed your blog for years, love it and barefoot happy life x
I don’t know shipping costs off the top of my head as it depends on your location and the weight of the shipment, but we offer duties and fees prepaid and included with the shipping so it is a more expensive service than if you had to pay the duties after the package arrives. Thank you for being a loyal reader!!
I really wish there was a tiny little heel. They look beautiful though!
Please, please, please make zero-drop leather (not nubuck, though) shoes, boots, and sandals in a medium-value, somewhat low chroma (i.e. muted) cool/bluish-gray. Gray shoes sell like hot cakes; they are in high demand. However, they’re almost impossible to find, especially in regular leather, not nubuck.
Suitable for narrow-ish, low volume feet would be a plus.
Thank you for your consideration of my request.
Hi Anya
I love the boots, am I able to buy them in Europe as they have been made in Portugal? I live in Spain. Thanks for the info you provide each week it really does help.
Currently they are not able to be purchased from within Europe (all stock has been shipped to us in the US). But we do hope to have some European stores start carrying them!
