Have you been blessed with beefy paws? Most shoes out there, even the ones labeled as wide, are not made to truly fit the shape of your feet. We’re here to stop your suffering in too-narrow shoes!
These are the best sneakers, boots, and sandals that actually fit even the widest feet out there! Tried, true, and tested by a real wide-footed human.
Why it’s so hard to find shoes that fit
Samantha here, the extra wide-footed princess of Anya’s Reviews. I struggled my whole life to find shoes that fit. My feet were always hanging off the edges of the soles and cramping up in tiny toe boxes. It wasn’t until a friend suggested I look at barefoot shoes that I realized most shoes were not shaped like feet at all. Read this for a deeper dive into standard vs foot-shaped shoes.
But that wasn’t the end of my foot woes. Even most of the barefoot shoes I tried, that had a foot-shaped toe box, were still too narrow and hurting my feet. I need shoes that are both foot-shaped AND extra wide. And I know I’m not the only one.
Foot-Shaped Shoes are half the solution
Our modern society would like you to think feet should be tiny and compact, but we know better. Strong feet are capable feet. The secret is in understanding yourself, embracing the shoes that fit you best, and saying no to what doesn’t. A shoe might be perfect for one person, and terrible for another.
But because it’s even harder knowing what will work for extra wide feet, we’ve set out to make that easier for you. For the past 5 years I’ve been testing and reviewing shoes, alongside Anya, to uncover the most uncompromising shoes that are not just anatomically-friendly, but also fit the widest of feet – starting with my own.
Find my tried-and-true suggestions here, organized by style of shoe.
Extra Wide Boots
Be Lenka (EU) – A very wide toe box, tend to be on the low-medium volume side. Excellent winter options! Use code ANYASREVIEWS for 5% off (returns are only accepted from the EU & US).
Many Be Lenka boots are also in the US at Anya’s Shop, for easier shipping!
Groundies Barefoot+ (US) – I really love these. They’re roomy and super flexible.
Gaucho Ninja (UK) – Extra wide, really high quality!

Shapen Barefoot (EU) – All Shapen boots have an extra wide fit! These also tend to be high volume, which gives your feet even more space to spread out.
ANYA5 for 5% off, or shop Shapen boots at Anya’s Shop here
Softstar Primal (US) – Definitely one of the widest toe boxes on this list, and they’re sustainably made in the USA! Personally I find them a little shallow over the toes when brand new (my toenails point upwards and are sensitive to pressure from above). But they do break in.
Lang S. (EU) – These could be a smidge wider, but they’re fully leather and have stretched just enough and molded to my feet. They’re also high volume, which helps my feet to noe feel squished! Read the full review here
Use code ANYALANG for 5% off directly, or shop Lang S at Anya’s Shop in the US.
Freet (US) – Lots of practical options from Freet! In general we recommend sizing up in order to get an extra wide fit. Use code AnyaFreet for 10% off.
Origo Adventurer (US) – A heritage quality boot with all the barefoot goodness we love in a barefoot boot! Read more about these here.
Use code ANYA for 10% off
Lems Chelsea Suede (US) – this is the widest fitting Lems boot, with lots of space in all directions. The Chelsea Waterproof, Chelsea Tuff, and Boulder boot line is also quite roomy (built on the same Widest shape) but not quite as generous as the Chelsea Suede.
Wildling Ranidae (EU) – The only Wildling shoe that fits me! Read the full review here. Use code AWN_ANYA_S for a one-time free shipping offer.
If you live outside the US, shop Wildling Ranidae in the EU here
Ahinsa (EU) – This vegan brand offers an extra wide option in several models that has an extremely wide toe box. They are labeled xWide.

Extra Wide Sneakers
Shapen (EU) – The ReWind sneakers feel like wearing slippers; they are buttery soft and a total dream. One of my personal faves! Review the review here!
Use code ANYA5 for 5% off the Shapen EU store (note they don’t accept returns outside the EU). Or shop Shapen at Anya’s Shop in the US for easier North American access.
Groundies Barefoot+ (US) – One of my favorite sneakers because they aren’t tight anywhere, and they have a wonderfully thin flexible outsole.
Outside the US you can shop at Groundies EU, where there are even more options.
Wyde Footwear (EU) – These are really wide, and high volume! They also have a bit more cushion than many other barefoot shoes, while still retaining the extra wide fit.
Use code ANYASREVIEWS for 10% off.
Tolos (US) – The latest models from Tolos surprised me with how well they fit! They’re fitted through the arch and heel, so if you have a wide midfoot or flat feet, they might not be for you. But the toebox is very generous. They’re available with a barefoot sole (7mm), or a thicker transition sole (13mm).
Use code ANYA10 for 10% off.
Bohempia (EU) – These hemp sneakers come in regular and wide, and the wide option is plenty wide for me!
Use code ANYASREVIEWS for 10% off directly, or shop Bohempia at Anya’s Shop in the US.
Dada Brand (EU) –
Lems Primal Zen (US) – Especially the suede version is very roomy and also have a square shaped toe box so they work for most foot shapes.
Barebarics (EU) – These sneakers have a more robust, thicker sole and lots of toe room!
Use code ANYASREVIEWS for 5% off Be Lenka EU. You can also find some of the Barebarics bestsellers at Anya’s Shop in the US.
Whitin (US) – This Amazon brand has a Wide Barefoot section that is quite roomy!
Extra Wide Women’s Dress Shoes
Shapen Wide width (EU)- I love so many of the dress shoes from Shapen, and they are definitely my top choice for looking fancy. The Poppy is a little more snug around the opening than Orchid, but can break in.
If shopping in the EU, use code ANYA5 for 5% off. (they don’t accept returns outside the EU). If shopping in the US, find Shapen at Anya’s Shop here.
Be Lenka Buena (EU) – Many of Be Lenka’s dress shoes are on a narrower sole, but not these! The Buena fits my foot shape well, but does have more of a bean shape so might not be suitable for those with longer outer toes.
Use code ANYASREVIEWS for 5% off directly from Be Lenka, or you can find the Buena laofer at Anya’s Shop here.
Jenon Leather (EU) – I adore my Jenon Leather shoes. I can wear the standard size with the insole removed, and they also offer customizations for hard-t0-fit feet. Read the full review here
You can find the Villet Mary Jane at Anya’s Shop (restock coming).
Groundies Barefoot+ (US) – The Lily in Barefoot+ are a wardrobe staple. Classy, without the pinched toes! Read more details here.
Softstar Shoes (US) – The Primal line from Softstar has an extra wide toe box and you can even customize them with your choice of leather and strap style! If you have “tall toes” you’ll likely need to stretch the toe box vertically since they can feel tight from above. Read more about these here.
Extra Wide Men’s Dress Shoes
Groundies Barefoot+ (US) – The Palermo and Milano models come in the Barefoot+ width and are very generous in the toe box. Also, really soft and nice looking.
