A row of stylish cute barefoot sandals for women in different shades of brown and tan from brands like Mukishoes, Be Lenka, Laboo, Zeazoo and Groundies with two pairs of legs and feet each putting a pair on
These pretty barefoot sandals will have you forgetting all about the uncomfortable shoes you used to wear.

Forget the heels, stylish barefoot sandals make me feel like a million bucks – I get to look cute AND feel comfortable. What more could I want??

Here my all time favorite barefoot sandals for women, with the important fit and sizing info you need to find YOUR favorite pair!

Happy Feet Doesn’t Mean Ugly Shoes!

A top down view of two shoes. One is a barefoot shoe, the Be Lenka Summer brown leather sandal next to a similar style shoe but with a pointy toe box. Text over the image is "Wear this" next to the foot shaped shoe and "not that next to the pointy shoe.

When I first decided to stop wearing sandals that hurt my feet I thought I would also have to stop wearing cute sandals. But fortunately, there are tons of stylish barefoot sandals out there so you can look and feel your best during spring and summer – you’ll even find some fancy barefoot sandals for weddings here!

This post covers stylish women’s barefoot sandals. If you’d like more information on barefoot sandals for men, kids or athletic use, see below additional resources for you.

What About Slides & Flip Flops?

A side by side image of a woman wearing two different kinds of shoes. On the left is a flip flop that is falling off her heels. Arrows show that the shoe is not secure to her foot and there is a red cross underneath. On the right is a sandal with an ankle strap that keeps the shoe secure to her foot. An arrow shows that it is not falling off and there is a green check mark underneath.

Before we get to my picks for the best stylish barefoot sandals, I want to talk for a quick sec about slides and flip flops. Those shoes are aptly named, because they SLIDE and they FLOP. There’s nothing to keep them secure to your foot, causing you to grip your toes or walk funny to keep the shoe on. That is why everything on this list has a back strap.

Still want barefoot-friendly slides for quick jaunts outside, beach trips, public showers, etc? I cover these styles as well in my Complete Barefoot Sandals List.

The 10 Best Stylish Barefoot Sandals

I look to barefoot sandals to feel cute and stylish while treating my feet right. After trying out hundreds of different barefoot sandals from brands all over the world, below are my picks for the 10 best cute barefoot sandals of all time!

If you want to add a little cushion to your barefoot sandals, check out insoles that work well with sandals here.

Everything on this list I personally own and wear, so you are getting firsthand experience to guide you!

Laboo Leather

Leather | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 35-45 | Ships from USA or EU

If you are in the EU or want more color options, you can order these from the Laboo Etsy shop.

What I Love About Them: My favorite and most worn stylish barefoot sandals are from Laboo Leather. I take these with me every time I travel because they are so reliably cute, comfortable, and lightweight. The shape of this sandal was created by your truly, years ago when I asked Botond (the shoemaker) to create a custom sole for me. You all clamored over them so much he standardized it and now sells only this shape!

We carry two versions of this sandal at Anya’s Shop, one with a long ankle wrap tie and one with a buckle. The ankle wrap version can be customized to a length you prefer or even trimme to be a slip on (see the video in this post to show how to tie).

They’re seriously the best, we sell out of every restock we get. Don’t worry though, you can sign up for restock notifications because we continually add more!

In 2023 I met up with Botond in Budapest! He is the kindest soul and it was such a joy to get to know him better.

Fit Type/Sizing:

  • Wide fitting
  • Highly adjustable to both low and high volume feet
  • Runs slightly small, but accurate to the size chart

Laboo Leather barefoot sandals have a wide shape, but because the laces are fully adjustable at any point they can easily fit most foot types. Some people with narrow heels have had trouble getting the ankle straps secure enough, but most people get a good fit after tweaking the straps.

Laboo sandals do run a little bit short in my experience, and I wear one size bigger in Laboo than I normally do in sandals (an EU 37, instead of 36). There is a size chart available at the links above with exact measurements.

Crupon Sandals

Leather | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 36-42 | Ships from EU

Code ANYA gets you 10% off!

What I Love About Them: Crupon sandals are timelessly beautiful and you can immediately feel the quality of the leather on your skin. The barefoot line from Crupon has a flexible sole, but the stitching and leather are sturdy so you don’t feel like you’re going to wear through them in one summer.

I love the color options they have, but truthfully end up wearing the neutral most often. You can make custom requests, such as a thicker sole, different colored straps, and different strap lengths – but note they custom orders are not returnable

I’ve been wearing Crupon sandals for years, and in 2023 got to visit their workshop in person. I even got to make a pair!

two pairs of feet standing side by side both wearing black Crupon sandals Nomade, with one in barefoot width and the other in Extra wide width

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Barefoot Line = medium wide fit, Extra Wide Barefoot Line = extra wide fit.
  • Medium to high volume – can be too high volume for me, depending on model. Read my full review for details.
  • Mostly true to size, but slightly long. I recommend referencing their printable size template.

Shapen Barefoot

Leather | 5mm Thick | Sizes EU 36-43 | Ships from EU or US

Use code ANYA5 for 5% off Shapen in the EU. We are also carrying many lovely Shapen sandals at Anya’s Shop this year!

What I Love About Them: Shapen barefoot has some really dressy feminine styles that also fit wide and extra feet – wonderful if you’ve had trouble finding pretty shoes that fit. They are perfect for fancy occasions too.

The sizing can be tricky with Shapen, but in general they run pretty wide and high volume. If you have a lower volume foot, I recommend the Lily model. If you want something pretty but need all the room, then the Petal is where it’s at.

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Wide to extra wide fit (with the exception of Lily Regular width)
  • High volume feet fit (with the exception of Lily, which has a low volume fit.
  • They run large and roomy, and many people size down unless you have an overall thick wide foot. Always check the size chart.

Be Lenka Barefoot

Leather | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 36-43 | Ships from EU & US

You can use ANYASREVIEWS code to get 5% off your Be Lenka EU purchase. You can also find many Be Lenka sandals in the US at Anya’s Shop, for easier ordering.

What I Love About Them: Be Lenka barefoot sandals are the essential summer shoe. They’ve got a classic silhouette that is super versatile and a low profile outsole that makes them easy to dress up – they’re just dang cute!

The sole is flexible and thin, thinner than most on this list. The quality is really apparent, and these barefoot sandals are a favorite among my readers for weddings and other fancy occasions.

A person's feet in Be Lenka Promenade in black leather worn with beige striped flowy pants.

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Medium wide (except the Iris and Claire models, which are narrow and I don’t recommend them)
  • Medium volume
  • True to size

Be Lenka sandals have a pretty middle of the road fit type. The Grace and Summer have adjustable velcro straps, which can be trimmed to the length you need.

Lang S Sandals

A collection of various Tikki Shoes Lang S. leather sandals. Two pairs of legs are wearing them, and 2 pairs of sandals are unworn.

Leather & Vegan Options | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 36-43 | Ships from EU

Use code ANYALANG for 10% off directly from Lang S

What I Love About Them: Lang S Sandals (formerly known as Tikki), are extremely light and flexible with a nice wide forefoot. They’re great if you want classic sandal styling, but have extra wide feet. But they also fit my medium width feet like a dream! Particularly the Soul model – I almost forget I’m wearing them sometimes!

The only downside to them is that shipping is fairly expensive if you are outside the EU.

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Wide to extra wide fit
  • Adjustable for low to high volume
  • True to size

Huaraches by Anya

Vegetable Tanned Leather | 8mm Thick |US women’s 6-11.5 | 2 Widths | Ships from US

Code ANYA for 10% off

What I Love About Them: In 2023 Origo Shoes and I launched a foot-shaped take on an old tradition. Our huarache sandals are made in the traditional way in Michoacán, Mexico – but with a wide toe box upgrade! All the leather is vegetable tanned and chrome free too, so you can safely wear them on bare feet.

The Huarache sandals come in two widths, and we’ve found them to be incredibly versatile and well-fitting. Both Samantha and I wear them all the time (her in wide, me in regular). At this point I have taken mine on numerous trips around the globe, logging tons of miles without a single complaint.

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Regular width fits average to slightly wide feet with low to medium volume
  • Wide width is good for extra wide feet and fits medium to high volume.
  • True to size.

Juuri

Leather & Vegan Options | 4.5mm Thick | Sizes EU 34-48 | Ships from EU

We also carry these at Anya’s Shop in select colors!

What I Love About Them: Oh these sandals are pretty! They are delicate, feminine, and sexy – a perfect alternative to strappy heels. They can be dressed up, but still leave your toes free to splay out. And they are ridiculously comfortable for how beautiful they are.

I love that you can get different colored ribbons and tie them in many different ways. It’s not hard to do, simply follow their “how to tie” tutorials.

They have a vegan or leather outsole option (we sell only the leather outsole in the US), and the ties come in mostly fabric options, but leather too. They come in two different lengths depending on how you’d like to tie them and the width and volume of your feet and ankles.

Top down view of two people both wearing Juuri multi tie barefoot sandals in black and white fabrics.

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Wide to extra wide shape
  • Works for all foot volumes – low volume feet just need to tighten the straps, maybe more than you think you need at first.
  • True to size

Zeazoo

Leather | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 35-46 | Ships from EU & US

Use code ANYASREVIEWS for 5% off the EU shop. Or you can find a selection of Zeazoo sandals in the US at Anya’s Shop.

What I Love About Them: Zeazoo Sandals are another ultra light stylish option (can you tell I like lightweight sandals?). They offer a really classic single strap sandal (the Siren, shown above) as well as more unique options such as they Freya, and the Olymp. We carry the classic Zeazoo Siren at Anya’s Shop, but if you want to have fun with colors and more options, check out all the options they have on the main EU website!

These sandals are good for people sensitive to straps and prone to blisters – they are super soft and don’t cut in at all.

A person standing in the middle of 3 pairs of Zeazoo Siren barefoot handmade leather sandals. She is wearing the gold pair, and a black and brown pair are on either side of her feet.

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Medium width shape
  • Medium to high volume fit
  • Runs a little long, but I don’t size down.

Zeazoo sandals come in a narrow, regular and wide, but all are built on the same sole. So that really refers to the volume you need. At Anya’s Shop we carry only the wide version.

Feelgrounds

Vegan | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 35-48 | Ships from EU

Use code ANYA5 for 5% off

What I Love About Them: Feelgrounds Seaside sandals are made of a cotton upper and a cork insole, so they feel breathable and soft on foot. The back closure is velcro, so they go on easily, and they have a really clean look to them that can be both casual and dressed up. You can also get them in faux leather for a dressier look!

The rubber outsole on these is a little heavier/stiffer than the above options, but still a solid barefoot sandal. The cork gets dirty easily, but the nice thing is you can scrub it clean just as easily and the dirt comes out! You can also wash the fabric strap if it gets stained. I took these on some long walking days and they were really comfortable!

Sizing & Fit Type: The Feelgrounds Seaside also has an extra wide fit, and the design leaves your toes completely free to do their thing. The strap fits medium volume with a little bit of elastic, so people with extra low or high volume feet might not get a good fit. I have a pair in both EU 36 and 37 and I prefer the 36 because the straps fit my low volume feet better.

Mukishoes

Leather or Canvas | 6mm Thick | Sizes EU 36-45 | Ships from US & EU

Use code ANYAMUKI for 10% off. We also carry both models at Anya’s Shop in the US for easier shipping!

What I Love About Them: The Solstice sandal (above left) is a great Teva replacement with cotton straps and a cork insole for a really breathable organic feel. The Nazare (above right) is sooo soft and a barefoot replacement for classic Birkenstock sandals.

They’ve been super popular this year, selling out fast. But we plan to restock this summer! Both have a generous fit with lots of toe space

Sizing & Fit Type:

  • Wide to extra wide fit
  • Adjustable volume, should work for most
  • True to size but slightly big for me. I did not size down

More of My Favorites

What? I like barefoot sandals!! 😀 Here are a few more excellent stylish barefoot sandal options you might want to consider – because I couldn’t narrow it down to only 10.

Grecian Sandals

Close up side view of Grecian Sandals barefoot dressy sandals being worn by a woman wearing a long green floral dress. The straps are metallic gold and the sandals close with a buckle

Grecian Sandals is a prolific Etsy shop with tons of designs, all of which can be made on a zero drop Vibram outsole. You have to be careful about selecting a style that doesn’t pinch the toes and is on a plain natural leather outsole – the outsoles that are either black or have stitching around the perimeter have a narrower, more tapered shape. I find these fabulous for weddings because they are beautiful but still affordable.

Groundies

A side view of a pair of feet slightly pointed and resting on a wood floor wearing Groundies Kos brown leather barefoot sandals with chunky straps

Groundies Sandals are well made and stylish in unique designs – perfect for fashion forward barefooters who want to stretch their style. I also find the quality to be consistently good, which makes for an extra polished look.

We’ll be carrying the Kos at Anya’s Shop this year.

Vivobarefoot Opanka

Vivobarefoot has a new sandal for 2025, the Sensus Yin. It is light and soft, with a medium wide fit. They are cute too. The cupped sole won’t work for extra wide feet, but for average feet they are a nice option.

Softstar Camino

Top down and side view of Softstar Camino minimalist sandals with a cushioned insole being worn by a person with wide feet on grass. The zero drop rubber sole is moderately thick.

The Softstar Camino is a barefoot sandal with plenty of space for your toes, a soft cushioned insole and a flexible but grippy outsole. Like the Birkenstock Arizona, but without the rigid arch support! Read our full Camino Review here.

The Camino Lite from Softstar is the same, but on a thinner outsole.

Butterfly Your World

Butterfly Your World has a couple great sandal options in 3 different widths! You can also have them made in many different colors. The 6mm rubber outsole is topped with suede and offers moderate ground feel and great flexibility.

Jenon Leather

Top Down view of a woman with wide toe splay wearing handmade gold leather sandals from Jenon Leather, a barefoot shoe brand in the Czech Republic

Jenon Leather has lots of sandal options in standard choices, with an option to have them custom made (sole thickness, leather colors, or shape/size). They’re pretty, and well made, and we love them! Everything is handmade to order, so expect to wait 4-5 weeks for production.

Drifter Leather Cut Here

the drifter leather safita & cut here sandals review close up

I adore my Drifter Leather Cut Here sandals. In fact, the only reason they are a runner up and not in the #1 spot is because they’re custom and ordering only opens every 6 weeks or so. They were my very first stylish barefoot sandals years ago and continue to be my all time favorite. If you are considering ordering from The Drifter Leather, read my detailed How To Order Guide.

  1. Hi Anya! I really love the dark wine red/brown sandals in the first photo (that you are wearing). Could you let me know which model/brand it is? Thank You!

  2. I tried the Xero cloud sandals, they were way too thing and hurt the ball of my foot really bad. Any suggestions on something a little thicker to work into transitioning to something so thin?

  3. Hello! So I have very delicate skin that blisters easily… do Crupons require a lot of breaking in or are they fairly comfortable from the start? Thanks!

    1. They are made of a thick sturdy leather that does take some breaking in. The sandals have never given me a blister, but once I wore the Trevi flats on a long walk when they were new and it rubbed my skin a bit. Ultimately they might be a little rough when brand new on very delicate skin.

  4. I was utterly disappointed in my order with Grecian Sandals.

    I ordered the wrong size.

In the notes, I put my measurements, as well as the way I like shoes to fit. I don’t think those notes were ever consulted, so I have a beautiful pair of sandals that are way too short, and way to tight over my toes. 😭

I hope to find them a nice home one day, but as my interactions with the owner left a bad taste in my mouth, I won’t be attempting this particular shop again. Crupons fit me REALLY well and their color selection is beautiful, so I’ll stick with what works.

  5. I must have really high volume feet. The straps on top of the foot of my Tikki Soul bend at a wierd angle. To fit me the would have to be sewn at a 90 degree angle…
And the BeLenka Flexi fits me very tightly. Strap is slightly too short for me.

A combination of very wide and very high feet makes even the barefoot shoe world a pain to navigate. 😔

  6. I’ve been looking at the groundies Cadiz for a while in Red but the straps look so delicate. How sturdy do you find them?

    1. I have only worn mine a few times and not for anything super athletic/rugged, but for lifestyle wear they seemed sturdy enough. Comparable to many of the other pretty sandals here (excepting Crupon and Laboo, which are extra sturdy)!

  7. Hi Anya,

I’d love to know what sandals the tan ones to the right of the huaraches are in the main blog post photo. I can’t seem to find them in the list.

    Thank you!

  8. Annika Cheveldave

I can’t seem to find the sizing guide or video on how to tie the Laboo sandals! Love these and would love to try them out. Do they ship to Canada?
